Fishing on the Varzuga River

The Kola Peninsula of Russia is a fantastic and unique place in all senses. We can safely say that this is the best place for salmon fishing in the whole of Europe, as evidenced by numerous groups of foreign fishermen. And if you take into account that you can get here not only by plane or by train, but also by private car, fishing on the Kola Peninsula makes many anglers dream of catching salmon into a real one. On the Kola Peninsula, there are many rivers where salmon shoals rush to spawn. But perhaps the most interesting river for the fisherman on the Kola Peninsula is the Varzuga River and its tributaries, into the waters of which, one of the best trophy fish in Russia, salmon, comes to spawn.

Period: from May 15 to July 1 and from September 15 to October 20.

Duration of the tour: 7 days / 6 nights. The day of arrival and the day of departure shall be counted as one day.

Group members: 6 fishermen. It is possible to reduce or increase the group by prior agreement.

Fishing area: the river Varzuga. The area of licensed fishing “Porokushka” – 2 km above the village of Varzuga, the length of 1.5 km. As well as fishing on a large and beautiful tributary of the Varzuga River – the Kitsa River.

Fishing on the Varzuga River. The area of licensed fishing “Porokushka” – 2 km above the village of Varzuga, the length of 1.5 km. One day, departure to the large and beautiful tributary of the Varzuga River – p. Kitsa. On the Kitsa River, fishing is optional with an overnight stay in tents. In order to get to the Kitsa River, in the morning we drive out to the “loaf” in the village of Kuzomen, we cross over in a motorboat to the fishing spot on the river. Kitsa. The village of Varzuga. Comfortable 2-storey wooden house, which is located on the shore of one of the richest salmon rivers on the Kola Peninsula – the Varzuga River. The house has wooden beds and furniture, a shower and a toilet. The house is equipped with a system of cold and hot water, sewage, electric heating system. From the balcony of the second floor offers a magnificent view of the right bank of the village.

For accommodation of fishermen in the village of Ura-Guba there are comfortable houses with a capacity of 4 to 8 people. The houses have everything for comfortable living, including: equipped kitchen for self-catering, bathroom, freezing chests to save the catch. In some houses there is a bath. Organized transfers from houses to the parking lot of boats and back.

Watercraft and equipment

Outing to sea fishing is carried out on large boats, which can comfortably catch from 4x. up to 6. fishermen. It is possible to increase the group by agreement. The boats are equipped with modern communication systems, echo sounders for searching for fish, navigation and rescue equipment. The boats “Rynda” (length 12 m., Width 3.6 m.) Salmon River Tipanovka. North coast of the Kola Peninsula

Many fishermen know the names of the rivers of the Kola Peninsula. Varzuga River, Panoy. They have long found the glory of places with excellent fishing. Fishermen are keen to come here not only from Russia, but also from abroad. In the not long season of the salmon, hundreds of fishermen gather on these rivers. The fishing pressure of these rivers is very high, which is not minimized, leading to a decrease in the fish entering for spawning. But there are on the Kola Peninsula the river, whose names are not widely spread. These rivers include the Tipanovka River, on the bank of which, a fishing base of the same name is located. The base is located 700 meters from the Barents Sea and 100 meters from the Tipanovka River. The distance from the fishing and hunting base to the nearest settlement, the settlement of Teriberka, is 30 km by sea, or from 1.5 to 3 hours by boat. What is caught in the river and the sea: Atlantic salmon (salmon), brown trout, char, pink salmon, trout, cod, haddock, halibut, catfish, sea flounder, flounder ruff.
